Day 1 - Arrive Iceland
Arrive at Keflavik airport and are greeted by your guide. We start our tour right away and drive to the southern part of Iceland, to the coast, on our way to the ferry to the Westman Islands.
We will be driving past the mountain area where we had our most recent eruption, an eruption in Geldingadalir, which started in March 2021 and ended in September same year.
We will stop for lunch on the way, the drive is scenic and a lot to see.
The ferry ride is short, about 40 minutes, very beautiful to come into the harbour at Heimaey, the island that is habituated.
We drive over to our hotel for the night and get settled, dinner is at a local restaurant but the town is known for good restaurants .

Day 2 - Westman Islands
After breakfast we head down to the harbour and embark on an adventure tour with a Rib safari company, go puffin watching, and look at the islands, the youngest is Surtsey, an ocean eruption that started November 14th 1963 and ended on 1967, that island is a UNESCO site.
Lunch is included, before or after the tour.
After the tour we drive to the light house at Storhofdi and look at the view from there, it is said it is one of the windiest places in Iceland, nearby is a little overlook to see puffins.
Once we are back at the hotel you have free time to explore the little town.

Day 3 - South Iceland
After breakfast, we load up and go to the ferry for our return back to the mainland. We use the day to explore the south coast, waterfalls and black sand beaches, birdlife and rock formations. The south coast is known for the glaciers Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull, underneath the icecap of both of them are volcanos. The one under the first one erupted in the year 2010 and caused trouble with air traffic all over Europe.
We have a long day of driving through ever-changing landscapes that draw the eye to every horizon and mountain top.

Day 4 - Glacial Lagoon
Today we head out to the amazing glacier lagoon Jokulsarlon Jökulsárlón is a large glacial lake in the southern part of Vatnajökull National Park, Iceland. Situated at the head of the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, it developed into a lake after the glacier started receding from the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The lake has grown since then at varying rates because of the melting of the glaciers. It is now 0.5 km away from the ocean's edge and covers an area of about 18 km2 (6.9 sq mi). In 2009 it was reported to be the deepest lake in Iceland, at over 284 m (932 ft), as glacial retreat extended its boundaries. The size of the lake has increased fourfold since the 1980s.
Just an incredible place that nobody forgets. We spend the day exploring the area, going to the beach, looking at icebergs, go for a boat tour on the lagoon. So much to see and do in the area
After a full day we head back to our hotel
Day 5 - Selfoss, Glacier
After breakfast, we pack our things into the vehicle and start our drive back to a place called Selfoss. There are great views along the way and a spectacular canyon, photo opportunities, stop for lunch on the way, if weather permits, we will drive up to a glacier and walk up to the viewpoint to look at the glacier tongue.

Day 6 -Golden Circle
Today we do what is called the Golden Circle , Iceland’s best-known area with traveller’s. We start with Iceland’s most sacred place, the National park Thingvellir. It is the place where our parliament was established in the year 930 making our parliament the oldest working parliament in the world. It is also the place where the rift valley is, the one between the North American Plate and the Eurasian plate
From there we go over to the Geysir area, where the hot springs are, Geysir the oldest and biggest, Strokkur, the one that is active now and many more. The Universal name for hot springs is Geysers and it comes from the name Geysir. At the visitors centre, there is our lunch option for the day.
From there we drive to the beautiful waterfall Gullfoss, it is one of the more spectacular waterfalls in the area
.We will visit the Tomato and horse farm Fridheimar , learn about the greenhouse farming and see a horse show where you will learn about the special horse breed Icelandic horse
We start our drive back , stop for a old explosion crater called Kerid .
Back to the hotel for a relax time before dinner
Day 7 -Reykjavik
After breakfast, we check out and drive to Reykjavik, on the way we visit a geothermal powerplant but Iceland is known for its geothermal water and power. This power plant is one of the largest in Europe, which gives you a good insight into how Icelanders use natural power.
When in Reykjavik, we go to the Sky Lagoon, a new nature bath located on the coastline in the city area. An amazing place, to relax in the geothermal water, enjoy the view and just be.
You will have some free time in the afternoon

Day 8 -Tour Ends
Time to bid farewell to Iceland and your guide will come and collect you to drive you to the airport for your flight back home.
