The Whooper swans and the Barnacle geese are getting restless as they prepare to leave for their summer homes. It is a fantastic time to spot wildlife along the coastline and maybe get close to an otter. The days have lengthened and the light is becoming clearer. There are signs of spring as the first primrose appear on the sheltered slopes of the machair and new born lambs are bleating in the crofts. Spring is a wonderful time to discover the islands and be away from the crowds.
